Nerd out. Play better.

Know
Every
Note.

For guitar and bass guitar players who are tired of knowing where to put their fingers but not knowing what they’re playing.

The Modules

01
Music Fundamentals
The theory foundation every guitarist needs but nobody taught you. Notes, scales, keys, the circle of fifths. Finally explained in a way that actually sticks.

Early Demo

02
Fretboard Notes
Master every note on every string. Adaptive drilling, spaced repetition, and a heatmap of exactly where you’re weak. No excuses.

Available

03
Chord Construction
Decode the theory behind every chord. Know what you’re playing and why. Not just where your fingers happen to be.

Early Demo

04
Triad Positions
Three notes, infinite positions. Learning triad shapes across the whole neck is what separates players who are stuck in one spot from players who own the whole thing.

Early Demo

05
Scale Patterns
CAGED, pentatonic, modes. Most players memorize a shape and call it done. This module drills every pattern in every position until you can find it anywhere on the neck without thinking.

Built while
learning.

I could play tab. I could play along with others by watching their fingers on standard chords. The moment they moved to a different position or played a solo or a run, I was lost. I could not improvise. I could not solo. I could only play what was planned out.

“I didn’t know the neck. I had memorized a few spots on it.”

The difference between those two things is the whole problem. Tab tells you where to put your fingers. It doesn’t tell you what note that is, why that chord works there, or how to find it anywhere else on the neck. You can play for years and still be completely dependent on someone else’s map.

FretNerd is the set of tools I built to fix that, starting with the most fundamental thing: knowing every note on every string, cold, without counting. Everything else follows from that.

How to
Actually Learn

01
No mystery notes

Every position has a name. You should know it without thinking. Not by counting up from the open string. Just know it. That’s the whole goal and there’s no shortcut.

02
Theory is a map

Chord construction, triads, scale patterns. None of this is music school stuff. It’s how you get from an idea in your head to your fingers finding it on the neck.

03
Drill what’s broken

Practicing what you already know feels productive. It isn’t. The modules find what you keep getting wrong and put it in front of you until it sticks.
